As you may know from the DiggDown.net website, Revision3 has recently pulled a stunt that puts them to shame. It was after all Kevin Rose who was the one that said he didn't mind people redistributing his content so long as no one makes money off it in The Broken.
Now basically DiggDown.net owner Striker has been sent a cease and desist letter from Digg/Revision3's Legal Company... It stated the standard stuff saying "You are infringing the Digg trademark", which is understandable, and hey Striker doesn't mind changing the name of the site to IggDown so long as we get to keep posting the content.
Jay Adelson said to Stiker that it would be ok to repost the episodes, so long as he reports the numbers to Rev3. Well he's been doign that, but now to be told that he may not repost the content? This is wrong. It shows a darker side of Revision3, a much darker side. Revision3 was supposed to stand for all that is good... No DRM, everything posted under Creative Commons which allows anyone to repost the content, so long as no-ones making any money. Striker hasn't gained money, HE'S LOST IT providing the downloads for all. So have the people who have donated mirrors... their losing bandwidth and space. All the mirror providers are also just people who want to provide it to their fellow Diggnation fans.

Striker even told people to donate to Revision3. But hey, this isn't about that, it's about the sharing of content we've paid for. After all Striker does pay monthly for it, like any other Revision3 Premium Member, and also Like Myself. What do you, the Diggnation and Digg community think? Leave your comments on Digg, post comments here, and as the true Digg community can, by darned, email Jay on [email removed, read bellow]. If they want to charge for early downloads, they shouldn't be using Creative Commons.
